One person was seriously injured after being shot near a Memphis school early Tuesday night.
According to ABC24 in Memphis, the shooting was reported at East Person Avenue and Pillow Street, near Hamilton High School around 6:30 p.m.
Memphis police spokesperson Sgt. Karen Rudolph said the 18-year-old gun shot victim ran to the high school where he collapsed.
He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The victim's identity was not immediately released; however a school spokesperson said the teen was not a student at the high school.
An event was being held at the school when the nearby shooting occurred.
Police are continuing to search for the gunman and said they do not believe the shooting was random.
No other injuries were reported.
