A family remains displaced after a fire heavily damaged their Franklin townhome and killed two pets on Thursday night.
The blaze broke out around 10:30 p.m. at the home located on Huffine Manor Circle.
Authorities said the fire is believed to have sparked on the first floor of the home.
With the exception of one adjacent unit that had some exterior heat damage, firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other units.
One resident inside the home was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
The family's cat and dog did not survive the fire.
Officials estimate the home sustained $150,000 in damages.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
