A man was taken to the hospital early Monday morning after being shot multiple times while leaving a bank ATM in north Nashville.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Jefferson Street, not too far from Dr. DB Todd Junior Boulevard.
Police told Nashville's News 2 the victim, a 44-year-old man, was shot in the leg and through his back.
He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with injuries described as life-threatening.
Officials said the victim was leaving the ATM when the shooter approached and opened fire.
The suspect then fled on foot. Police believe the shooting was robbery related but have not released an official motive.
Police have also not yet released any suspect information due to conflicting witness reports.
The investigation is ongoing.
