Metro police detectives Friday morning charged Demichael Anderson with Thursday afternoon's robbery of the Kroger store located at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Nolensville Pike in south Nashville.

Anderson, 21, of South Carolina, was taken into custody at the Doubletree Lane home of his aunt, with whom he was staying while in Nashville.

According to police, Anderson passed a robbery demand note to a clerk at Kroger's customer service counter at 3:45 p.m.

The note said that the robber was armed with a gun, although no weapon was seen.

Anderson was preparing to return to South Carolina when he was arrested.

He admitted to the robbery during an interview with detectives.

Anderson was booked into the Metro jail on charges of aggravated robbery and marijuana possession.  His bond was set at $80,000.
