The Nashville Rescue Mission is reaching out to the community for ham donations to help feed area homeless this holiday season.
Officials for the mission said they need 500 hams by Friday in order to serve those in need on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
“We know there are many who are in need today,” said President and CEO Glenn Cranfield said.
He continued, “It's not just the homeless who will join us for Christmas dinner. We'll see people who are downtrodden and just struggling to get by. There will always be people in our community who are hungry. Our doors are open to anyone who would like to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Mission's Donation Center located at 616 7th Avenue South.
The center is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Donations can also be made online at NashvilleRescueMission.org.
