Middle Tennessee State University basketball player Shawn Jones is said to be recovering following a seizure on Sunday.
The Daily News Journal reports, Jones was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center following the medical emergency.
He has since been treated and released.
The newspaper reported the junior forward suffered the seizure in the shower of his apartment after practice after he failed to take his regular medication for epilepsy.
A teammate who lives in the apartment complex is said to have called 911 and notified basketball coach Kermit Davis.
“It was scary when I first got that call. I got over there as fast as I could,” Davis told the newspaper, adding,”The ambulance took care of him. All his vital signs checked out fine. He missed his medication, and that's what basically caused it.”
Jones did not practice with the Blue Raiders on Monday. It remains unclear if he will play against Tennessee State University on Tuesday night.
