On Monday night, a memorial ceremony was held in honor of the victims involved in a massive car pileup last December in Hendersonville.
The fatal pileup, which was nearly a half a mile long, occurred on the edge of Hendersonville city limits on December 1, 2011.
Dozens gather around the steps of the county administration building to honor those who lost their lives in the crash and to plant a tree in memory of 62-year-old James Ziegler and 28-year-old Paul Warren.
Nineteen other victims were hospitalized following the chain-reaction crash.
Heavy, dense fog in the area was likely to blame for the pileup, as were icing conditions.
