Frances Rollings has proven it's never too late to fulfill a lifelong dream.
After 40 years, Rollings, a mother of one grown child, will be among hundreds of graduates who receive their degrees when Tennessee State University holds its 2012 fall commencement Saturday.
“It's awesome, it's really awesome. It's been a while, some hills and some valleys, but I made it and I am just so excited,” she told Nashville's News 2.
Rollings said despite taking four decades to complete, she is thrilled to be a college graduate.
“It's been exciting and challenging. Don't think it was easy because it wasn't. I didn't get as much sleep as I would have like to have, but it is all worth it now.
Rollings made all As and Bs while working on her nursing degree.
TSU's commencement will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Gentry Center.
