Free flu shots will be available for La Vergne residents on Monday.
The vaccines will be provided by the Mobile Heath Unit which will be at La Vergne Middle School located at 382 Stones River Road from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Health officials said the vaccinations will be offered on a first come, first serve basis and are provided through a partnership with the Rutherford County Health Department and Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
“We are so pleased that the Mobile Health Unit offers this service in La Vergne,” said Mayor Senna Mosley. “We encourage our residents to take advantage of the free shot so they can stay healthy now and throughout the remainder of the flu season.”
The Centers for Disease Control recommends anyone over the age of six months be vaccinated and those individuals who are considered at risk, including those with medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, chronic lung disease, pregnant women and people 65 years and older.
