The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Wednesday night arrested a Crossville man for the murder of his girlfriend.
John Giles, Jr., 61, was indicted Wednesday on one count of first degree murder for the death of 58-year-old Kimberly Ann Batty.
Giles told authorities he found Batty dead in her home on Dovenshire Drive on November 7.
Officers discovered her body in her living room with blunt force trauma to the head and signs of strangulation.
The investigation revealed that Batty and Giles had been in a relationship for several months before she was killed and she was preparing to separate herself from him.
Giles was booked into the Cumberland County jail on a $2 million bond.
