Board will not file lawsuit against state board of education

During a meeting Tuesday night, the Metro school board voted not to file a lawsuit against the state board of education.

Originally some board members wanted to sue after the state withheld more than $3 million from Metro as a consequence of the board's decision to deny a charter school proposal from Great Hearts Academy.

Director of Schools Dr. Jesse Register said during the meeting he hopes to reach a compromise with the state and the governor.
