Clarksville police have made an arrest in a park robbery that stemmed from a Facebook romance.
According to a news release, a 21-year-old man arranged a meeting with Sonya Howard via Facebook.
The two planned to meet December 4 at McGregor Park on North Riverside Drive.
Howard did not show up for the meeting, but her alleged sister-in-law, Ayla Perigo, did. She told the man meeting her that she wanted to make sure he was okay for Howard.
As the two were talking, another man, later identified as Ryan Dunn, 24, approached them and asked for a cigarette.
The 21-year-old refused and started to walk away. At that time, Dunn struck him in the head and he briefly lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
The man told police he saw Dunn and Perigo running away when he regained consciousness.
He later noticed he was missing a pocket knife, lighter and some flint.
The victim was taken to Gateway Medical Center to be treated for a broken foot, swollen jaw and head injury.
Dunn was charged with robbery and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $10,000 bond.
Police said more charges are pending.
