After serving parts of the Mid-State for more than 30 years, Officer Tommy Heithcock celebrated his retirement on Monday.
Heithcock began his career in law enforcement in Williamson County in 1976. He worked as a Franklin police officer for just over four years before he went to work for Spring Hill police.
He returned to the Franklin Police Department in 1991 where he has worked ever since.
Officer Heithcock said he will miss the people that he has worked closely with for the past 21 years, though admitted he is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
“Playing with my grandchildren more, though, is what I look forward to most,” he said.
“Officer Heithcock's 36 years of selfless service in law enforcement are representative of the character of a true public servant. He will be missed,” Chief David Rahinsky said.
A celebration for Officer Heithcock was held on Monday afternoon at the Franklin police headquarters.
