A 10-month-old boy from Linden, Tennessee has officially been added to the donor list for a liver transplant.
Levi Smith was born January 16. A few weeks after his birth, he was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease which affects around 1 in 20,000 babies.
“It's scary, it's very scary and hard,” mother Andrea Smith previously told Nashville's News 2. “I think we are still learning to cope with it everyday because we don't know what the outcome is going to be.”
Smith has undergone two surgeries at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt where doctor's determined he needed a liver transplant.
