A man is in jail after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a 21-year-old woman in November.
Brentwood police department was contacted by the police department in Sharon, Tenn. on Nov. 26 concerning a domestic assault case in Weakley County.
The victim told police in Sharon that she had been taken by gunpoint from her home on Franklin Road.
Athanasios D. Edmonston was arrested as a result of the domestic assault case on charges on charges of aggravated domestic assault and vandalism.
The investigation into the Brentwood kidnapping lead police to believe the victim was taken against her will at 3 a.m. on Nov. 26.
According to a release from the Brentwood police department, Edmonston forced his way into the victim's home and drove to Sharon. The victim was treated and released from the Weakley County hospital.
Brentwood police have warrants charging Edmonston with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary. Brentwood police look to serve those warrants once the charges in Weakley County are resolved.
Brentwood Police have obtained arrest warrants charging Mr. Edmonston with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Burglary. Those warrants will be served at a later date after the Weakley County charges have been resolved.
Edmonston is currently being held without bond in the Weakley County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 6.
