CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police arrested a Clarksville mother Sunday after she was caught driving drunk with her three young kids in the car.

Dana Clark, 38, was stopped after she was observed driving erratically on Madison Street.

Police took a 911 call from a concerned citizen just after 5 p.m. Sunday.  An officer spotted Clark a short time later.

Dana Clark was arrested for DUI after she was observed driving erratically on Madison Street.

“When he stopped the lady, he saw she had children in there. He did a sobriety test, and she did not pass them,” said Clarksville police spokesman Jim Knoll.

According to police, Clark appeared to be intoxicated with glassy eyes and slurred speech. Her three children, ages 9, 7 and 5, were in the backseat of her minivan.

Clark was transported to Gateway Medical Center for a mandatory blood draw before being booked in Montgomery County jail.

“Under DUI laws now, there are certain situations that call for mandatory blood draw.  Since there were children in the vehicle and she was arrested for DUI, that became one of those situations,” explained Knoll.

Clark was charged with driving under the influence and three counts of reckless endangerment.

It could take up to eight weeks for blood test results to be returned from the TBI.

She has since been released on a $3,500 bond.
