Metro police late Saturday night charged convicted felon Shane Chaloux with promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine after stopping his SUV in the parking lot of the west Nashville Walmart store.
Chaloux, 39, was being sought for a south Nashville domestic assault that occurred earlier in the day when officers spotted his vehicle in the parking lot.
During a search of his vehicle, officers found a semi-automatic pistol and a dismantled meth lab.
Chaloux was charged with promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine, unlawful firearm possession by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous crime, domestic assault and driving on a suspended license.
He was booked into the Metro jail on an $82,000 bond.
Chaloux, of Camden, Tennessee, was convicted of aggravated assault in Henry County in 2008.
