The public is invited to quilt or sew this weekend in an effort to help Hurricane Sandy victims.

The middle Tennessee chapter of Project Linus is meeting in Murfreesboro Saturday, November 17 to work on blankets for hurricane victims.

Project Linus, named for the Peanuts character, aims to provide warm blankets and afghans to children dealing with illness and disaster.

Those wishing to participate are invited to bring sewing supplies to the  Lane Agri-Park Community Center at 315 John R. Rice Boulevard in Murfreesboro Saturday.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
