It was a happy home opener for the Lady Vols Thursday in Knoxville as they routed the Rice Owls 101-48 in Knoxville.

After opening the season with an upset loss at UT-Chattanooga the Lady Vols rolled to their second straight win behind 22 points from Meighan Simmons.

Bashaara Graves collected 18 points for Tennessee. Isabelle Harrison got 16 points and 12 rebounds. Kamiko Williams added 12 points.

After 38 years as head coach Pat Summitt watched this game from her seat at midcourt and saw the type of performance she was use to.

The Lady Vols (2-1) have recorded two straight one-sided victories since getting stunned 80-71 at Chattanooga last week in the head coaching debut of Holly Warlick, who served as Summitt's assistant for 27 seasons.
