Clarksville police arrested a man with 27 warrants on file following a tip from a woman who recognized him from recent media reports.
Michael Gray is alleged to have been involved in an assault on a 34-year-old man at an apartment on Tandy Drive earlier this month.
Police said the victim was beaten and struck several times with a handgun.
He suffered a large laceration on the back of his head, severe swelling to the left side of his face, and two of his teeth were knocked out.
After Gray, 23, was arrested, a 22 Magnum revolver and marijuana was found in his possession.
He was served with a total of 27 warrants and booked into the Montgomery County jail.
A second man allegedly involved in the Tandy Drive assault, 26-year-old Gregory Robinson, remains at large.
Police said he is currently on parole for aggravated assault and aggravated robbery.
The victim was subleasing the Tandy Drive apartment from Robinson at the time of the assault. He was allegedly beaten over overdue rent money, police said.
Anyone with information on Robinson's whereabouts is urged to call Clarksville police at 931-645-8477.
