Titans head coach Mike Munchak said quarterback Jake Locker has been cleared for contact this week on Tuesday evening during his weekly radio show.
Locker has been out since dislocating his shoulder at Houston during week four of the season.
It was the second time he suffered the injury this season and it included a break in the bone around the socket.
Munchak said Locker will not be “hit” at practice but will split reps with Matt Hasselbeck.
During Titans on 2 Monday evening Munchak reiterated that Locker's return was strictly a medical decision, when he's cleared he will play.
Tuesday's news is certainly a huge step toward his return.
The Titans are at Miami Sunday.
Coach Munchak is expected to make a decision on his quarterback Wednesday or Thursday.
