Imagine being up close and personal with some of country music's biggest stars. That wish became a reality for 40 lucky Nashville's News 2 viewers who won tickets to the CMA red carpet event Thursday at the Bridgestone Arena.
“I was really ready for this,” said Sherry Smith. “I needed a good night out and this was it.”
As celebrities strutted their stuff on the red carpet, they posed for photos and signed autographs for lucky fans.
“They were all really gracious, they all gave us autographs [and] they all stayed for pictures,” Smith told Nashville's News 2.
“My camera broke right in the middle of all of it but thank goodness for cell phones,” said Bryant Durham, who attended the event with his wife and three-year-old daughter.
Durham was resourceful, using his camera phone to snap pictures of Kellie Pickler, Willie Nelson and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland.
Durham already has his sights set on next year.
“Hopefully next year we can be caller number 22 again,” Durham quipped.
