Two people were injured after the driver of a dump truck sideswiped a Tennessee Department of Transportation truck along Interstate 40 east of Nashville Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 12:45 p.m. at mile marker 220 near Central Pike.
Authorities said the dump truck driver hit the TDOT truck while it was parked alongside the interstate to alert drivers of brush cutting in the area.
The impact caused the dump truck to careen down an embankment and overturn.
The driver was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Baptist Hospital.
Traffic was slowed in the area while the scene was cleared.
