A Nashville mother met a woman who recently found her young son wandering a gas station all alone after her car was stolen from a nearby home.

Five-year-old Tahj was sleeping in the backseat of his mother's car as she went inside an in-home daycare center on the afternoon of September 25 to pick up another child.

The 29-year-old mother was inside the residence when at least two men stole her 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, which was left unlocked and running.

After a nearly three hour search, Tahj was found safe by Toni Lutrick at a nearby truck stop.

“He was sobbing and the closer he got to us, my husband said he sobbed harder and when I turned around he was sobbing so hard that he couldn't breathe.  I just consoled him and told him that I would try to help him.  I asked him if he lost his mama and he shook his head yes,” Lutrick previously told Nashville's News 2.

On Monday, Tajh's mother, Farrah was able to thank Lutrick in person as the pair met for the first time.

“She is our angel. We thank God for her. I don't even want to think about what the outcome would have been if he had not come in contact with Ms. Toni. We are just grateful and I am happy to finally meet her,” Farrah said.

Metro police remind parents it is illegal to leave children unattended in a car with the keys inside.

Farrah said she hopes other parents will learn from her son's story.
