A Clarksville man's stolen pet Marmoset monkey was located more than 100 miles away from his home late Monday night.
Petersburg police said they received an anonymous tip regarding the monkey's whereabouts around 11:30 p.m.
Officers responded to the residence where the monkey, Gizzy, was alleged to be.
Police said the homeowners were cooperative and reported they recently purchased the monkey from a Nashville man for $500.
The monkey was voluntarily turned over to police until the animal's owner arrived on Tuesday morning.
The monkey's owner, Douglas Jackson, said Gizzy's hair had been shaved and it appeared as if the animal had lost quite a bit of weight.
