A Hawkins County woman and her husband face charges of TennCare fraud for allegedly using the state's Medicaid program to illegally obtain a prescription for Subutex, an opioid used to treat heroin addiction.
Additionally, authorities said Bradley and Christine Neal planned to sell a portion of the drug.
Christine Neal, 24, is charged with two counts of TennCare fraud.
Bradley Neal, 28, additionally faces two counts of TennCare fraud for aiding and abetting his wife's efforts.
TennCare fraud is a Class E felony carrying a sentence of up to two years in prison per charge.
