The wife of the man who was murdered and decapitated over the summer has pleaded not guilty in connection to the brutal crime.

Erman Thompson was shot and killed in July. His head was discovered in a trash can outside of his home.

Thompson's adoptive son, Henry Baxter, is charged with the murder.

Ashly Thompson, Erman's wife, was indicted by a grand jury last month for being an accessory to the murder after the fact, a Class E felony.

She pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Wednesday morning.

Police allege Ashly Thompson lied to them in the initial stages of the murder investigation and withheld information.

Baxter also pleaded not guilty in his arraignment Wednesday morning.  He remains behind bars.

Ashly Thompson is out of jail on bond.
