As flu season begins, one local pharmacy is encouraging people to get vaccinated by offering a drive-through flu shot clinic.
At the Kroger pharmacy located at 463 Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna, patients rolled down their windows and rolled up their sleeves.
“I like it,” said Sally Crebiston, the first customer of the day. “I don't have to sit in the doctor's office for five hours, so this is great.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends an annual flu shot for everyone six months and older, especially pregnant women, the elderly, and anyone with certain medical conditions including asthma, diabetes and chronic lung disease.
This year flu shot costs $25. Kroger accepts most major insurance companies.
The drive-through flu shot clinic is Tuesday only at the Sam Ridley Parkway location until 6 p.m.
After that, flu shots will be available inside the pharmacy.
