A seven-year-old boy is in the custody of child services after he was found walking around an apartment complex all by himself.

The child was wandering around the Riverwood Place Apartments in Clarksville and couldn't tell police which unit was his.

When neighbors directed the officers to the correct apartment, they found a baby asleep in a back bedroom. The parents were still nowhere to be found.

Nearly two hours later, the mother, Jennifer Waller, returned and told police she had gone to the store.

Shortly after that, the father of one of the children showed up smelling like marijuana, police said.

Clarksville police charged the mother with child abuse and neglect.
