NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Titans running back Chris Johnson is one of only 6 players in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards. This season he’s on pace for 64.
After one game the numbers are brutal for Johnson and he knows it. Johnson had just 4 yards on 11 carries in the Titans opening loss against New England.
Titans running back Chris Johnson knows the numbers look pretty bad.
Johnson said Thursday he takes the blame when the run game struggles and everyone simply needs to work harder.
The Titans addressed the run game in the summer adding pro bowl offensive guard Steve Hutchinson. Offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said during training camp the run game was already ahead of where it was at any point in 2011.
The Titans and Johnson get another chance to prove they’re working hard and the problems are fixed Sunday at San Diego. History is not on their side. The Titans have not won there since 1990.
