The Nashville Predators beat the lockout deadline signing forward Gabrielle Bourque to a two-year deal worth $1.55 million on Friday afternoon.
The deal pays Bourque $725,000 this season and $825,000 in 2013.
The 21-year old emerged during the middle of last season posting 19 points (7 goals, 12 assists) in only 43 games.
He also scored three goals in the playoffs, including two in the Predators game one win over the Detroit Red Wings.
With a lockout looming, Bourque was one of 22 players assigned to the Predators AHL affiliate in Milwaukee Friday.
