Franklin police arrested two suspects after a mall employee notified officers the men were attempting to use fake credit cards to purchase jewelry.

Jermon Trammell, 30, and Jai Barker, 27, were taken into police custody a short time following the incident.

Police reported the two men, believed to be from Dayton, Ohio, possessed more than a dozen fraudulent credit cards and two counterfeit driver's licenses.

Inside the duo's rental car, officers discovered more than $70,000 of merchandise purchased in Ohio, Nashville and Franklin.

According to police, the recovered items include high-end jewelry, designer handbags and an Apple computer.

Trammell and Barker are charged with theft over $60,000 and criminal simulation.

Both men's bond is set just over $1 million. They are scheduled to appear in court next week.
