On Tuesday the Metro School Board is set to meet to consider plans to alleviate crowding in two growing areas.

The board is scheduled to vote on a $1 million deal to purchase land off of Smith Springs Road for two new schools in Antioch.

Metro schools have around 81,000 students enrolled this year, which is the highest enrollment since 1975.

In the last decade, Metro schools have seen their student population increase by more than 12,000.
