Suspects who recently broke into a Lawrence County church left a three-page letter apologizing for their actions.
According to a report in the Lawrenceburg Now, the incident occurred at the Trinity Tabernacle Church located on Lindsey Church Road in Leoma, Tennessee around 88 miles away from Nashville.
The pastor reported to police the suspects likely entered the church through an unlocked door at the rear of the building and got away with two bass guitars and a gig bag.
The losses are estimated to be more than $1,700.
Upon their arrival, the pastor gave officers a three-page typed letter that was addressed to him and contained an apology for the crime, as well as an explanation to why the crime was committed.
Police are continuing to investigate.
