A popular, Murfreesboro-based family restaurant chain has closed one of its locations.
Demos' Florence, Alabama location was shutdown over the weekend.
Owner Peter Demos said the decision was “very hard” but low sales left him no choice.
WAFF-TV in Huntsville reported employees learned of the decision via text message when they were told not to show up for work.
The Demos family had recently taken to its Facebook page to ask customers about how the business should respond to skyrocketing food and health insurance costs.
The restaurant started in Murfreesboro and has four Middle Tennessee locations.
There are no plans to close any other locations.
