From Florida to Texas, residents are bracing for Hurricane Isaac, and emergency officials across the U.S. are preparing.
“We have two emergency response vehicles that we're prepared to send if the need arises,” said Scott Toncray of the Nashville Area Red Cross.
The Red Cross in Nashville has already sent eight volunteers to Tampa, Florida.
Several members of Tennessee's GOP party are in Tampa where the Republican National Convention was scheduled to start Monday.
Officials have scrapped Monday's events to ride out the storm, but Tennessee's delegates aren't letting the delay take away from their goal.
Nashville's News 2 spoke with Tennessee's Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney by phone on Sunday.
“While everyone was excited about the convention starting on Monday like it was supposed to, this is certainly not going to dampen things by any means,” Devaney said.
The Republican National Convention will convene Tuesday.
