During a meeting Tuesday night, the Metro school board voted to indefinitely defer Great Hearts' charter proposal.
Officials said before Metro-Nashville public schools considers approval, Great Hearts must submit an application that addresses several areas of concerns including teacher licensing and diversity.
School officials previously rejected the Arizona based group on two separate occasions.

- May 29, 2012: Metro School Board approves 2 new charter schools
