A Nashville man faces a grand jury indictment for poisoning his girlfriend's dog with anti-freeze.
According to the Metro police arrest affidavit, Clayton White intentionally poured anti-freeze in the Chihuahua's water bowl last January.
The dog drank the substance, went into renal failure and had to be euthanized due to the complete destruction of the dog's kidneys, the report stated.
Metro Animal Control investigator Billy Biggs told Nashville's News 2 the victim alleges White poisoned her 10-pound Chihuahua because she broke up with him.
A necropsy was performed during which the dog tested positive for anti-freeze.
White, 28, faces aggravated animal cruelty charges for intentionally killing the animal.
