A Goodlettsville baseball team is advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania after beating out a Georgia team on Friday night.  

The Goodlettsville All Stars beat the Robins, Georgia team 1-0 in the Southeast Region game which was broadcast on ESPN.

Goodlettsville starting pitcher Brock Myers tossed five no-hit innings while striking out nine batters.

The lone run of the game was scored by Blake Osbourne on a passed ball in the second inning.

The team is the first Tennessee team to advance to the Little League World Series since 1987.

The 2012 season marks the team's second year playing in the Little League organization.

Coach Joey Hale previously told Nashville's News 2 the team had received calls from the mayor of Goodlettsville and Jake Locker from the Tennessee Titans wishing them good luck.

The Little League World Series begins Thursday, August 16.

Goodlettsville will open against the winner of the Midwest Region.
