The Goodlettsville Little League team is one win away from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and a spot in the Little League World Series.
On Wednesday, they took care of North Carolina 9-3 in the Southeast Regional semifinal.
On Friday, the team's coach, Joey Hale, told Nashville's News 2 that his team was very excited, but there was one group more excited than anyone else.
“The parents are more excited than anything,” Hale said. “I know [both the parents and kids] have a lot of nervous energy in them.”
Hale also said that they've received calls from the mayor of Goodlettsville and Jake Locker from the Tennessee Titans wishing them good luck.
“It's just unreal the amount of commitment and if you look at the program, we have right now going on, the six and seven-year-old, nine-year-old teams. This is [going to] be a feeder for the next generation of championship teams in this city,” Mayor John Coombs said.
Goodlettsville plays the host team out of Georgia for the game at 6 p.m. Friday on ESPN.
