A coffee shop with a mission to provide clean water to hundreds of millions of people around the world opened Wednesday in Green Hills.

The Well, located at 2035 Richard Jones Road off Hillsboro Pike, was “born out of a vision to make a difference in the world,” according to co-founder Rob Touchstone.

The company plans to donate all profits made from coffee sales to organizations dedicated to helping build clean water systems throughout the globe.

“None of this is to profit ourselves, but to completely make a difference in our community and our world,” explained Touchstone.

The coffee shop partnered with Blood: Water Mission and The Living Water Project to help provide communities with access to clean water.

A barista working for the company explained the mission has been very successful so far.

“Everyone is really, really supportive and I love to see how much they want to be involved and how wonderful their day is made knowing they've made someone else's day.”

The coffee beans provided are from Just Love Coffee Roasters in Murfreesboro.

Scones, muffins and other pastries are made by Foxy Baking Company in east Nashville.

The shop is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
