The completion date for a major roadway construction project in La Vergne is set for the spring of 2013.
Officials from the Department of Transportation told Nashville's News 2 the estimated completion date for the work on Waldron Road is scheduled for April 30, 2013.
For the past two years, crews have been working on a widening project on the roadway which is a vital link to Interstate 24 in northern Rutherford County.
TDOT reports Phase I of the ongoing project is complete with the exception of final paving.
Crews are expected to move on to Phase II, which will include laying new utilities, adding curbs and gutters and widening.
Construction on the widening project began in December 2009.
Businesses along the busy roadway have said sales have suffered due to the project.
