Metro police, alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who robbed a Nashville bank on Friday morning.

According to police, the suspect first attempted to rob Bank of America located at 1634 Church Street, before successfully robbing a nearby branch on Blakemore Avenue.

Police said in the attempted robbery, he presented a demand note before fleeing the scene after the teller refused to comply.

Witnesses reported he left the scene in a black Volkswagen Passat.

At the Blakemore Avenue Bank of America location, the man presented the teller with a demand note.

He was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s. He is around five feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing plaid shorts, a black t-shirt, tennis shoes and a ball cap.
