Lightning strike causes damage to building at Stoneridge Farms

A lighting strike in Rutherford County Thursday night caused damage to a building and electrical wires at Stoneridge Farms at Hillwood.

Four fire and rescue units responded to the farm in the 200 block of Hillwood Boulevard in Murfreesboro around 7 p.m.

The strike did not spark a fire, though it left two softball-size holes in a roof and charred and melted electrical wires.

The strike also knocked out the alarm systems to two buildings.

Rescue departments on the scene checked the buildings to make sure no fires sparked.

No injuries were reported.
