A Mid-State man was taken into custody on Saturday evening for impersonating a police officer on Interstate 65.
According to police, officers noticed James Garrett driving his blue 1999 Ford Crown Vehicle with flashing lights on Long Hollow Pike passing backed up traffic.
Officers pulled Garrett over after they determined his car was not a police vehicle.
Goodlettsville Police Chief Richard Pope said Garrett claimed to be a reserve officer with the Flatwood Kentucky Police Department, however the police department reported those claims to be untrue.
Inside his vehicle, officers discovered a car video camera system, a loaded pistol, assault rifle and 30 Round magazine.
He is charged with impersonating a police officer and has since been released on bond.
