Two people were seriously injured in a tractor trailer explosion in Antioch, not far from the Rutherford County line early Monday morning.
The explosion was reported at Southeastern Freight Lines just after 3:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of Murfreesboro Pike across from Hurricane Creek Boulevard.
One worker inside the trailer and another worker outside the trailer were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with potentially critical injuries.
Authorities told Nashville's News 2 the fire started when workers were trying to remove a motor from a trailer.
Firefighters believe propane expelled from the broken motor may have sparked, causing the initial explosion.
Flames and smoke could be seen from a row of trailers on site.
The road was partially shutdown for over an hour while crews battled the blaze and cleared the scene and it has since reopened.
Southeastern Freight Lines is based in Lexington, South Carolina, and specializes in shipping and delivering goods.
