The summer staple of Movies in the Park kicked off Wednesday night.
For the first time ever, the family friendly movies were shown at Percy Warner Park located on Highway 100 instead of Centennial Park.
The change of location follows a shooting last summer at Centennial Park where a 15-year-old from Goodlettsville was shot in the leg.
Organizers have not said if the shooting incident is the reason for the change of venue.
Wednesday night's feature movie was “The Help.”
“People are here to have a a good time, relax, get away from things,” one attendee told Nashville's News 2.
Other movies scheduled for the summer include “Shrek” on June 13, “Twilight: Breaking Dawn” on June 20 and “Captain America” on June 27.
Food vendors were also on hand.
This year's providers include Moe's Southwestern Grill, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Stonehouse Q, Kona Ice, the Grilled Cheesserie gourmet food truck and Moose Head kettle corn.
