A recent graduate of Hillsboro High School in Nashville faces burglary and vandalism charges after entering the school unauthorized early Monday morning.

Police responded to an alarm at the school on Hillsboro Pike around 2 a.m.

Officers surrounded the building and sent a K9 officer inside where they found 18-year-old Jacob Bernardi Stovall.

“While [the K-9 officer] was searching the building the suspect came out and gave up to the officers who were on the perimeter,” Metro police Capt. Ken Walburn explained. “He walked out of the school with his hands up and gave up without incident.”

According to police, Stovall told them he entered the school through an unlocked front door.

He also admitted to going to the main office where he wrote a note that read, “Better Security? You need it.”  Another note read, “Hail Satan.”

The teenager told police he went to the school to get some pictures.

Police found several pictures were missing from the school hallways and Stovall told police he cut up a diploma but stated it had 'Void' written on it.

Stovall was booked into the Metro jail on a $12,500 bond.

He is charged with theft and vandalism.
