After 16 years in Centennial Park, the Nashville Scene and Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation are moving the annual summer event Movies in the Park to Percy Warner Park in western Davidson County.
Community members are invited to a free movie every Wednesday night at sunset from June 6 through June 27.
The new location at Percy Warner Park's cross country fields is located on Highway 100, a short drive from downtown.
“There is a great opportunity for movie-goers to arrive early and picnic and hike before the movie begins,” said Mike Smith, Publisher of the Nashville Scene, in a press release.
The lineup for summer 2012 is as follows:
– June 6: The Help
– June 13: Shrek
– June 20: Twilight: Breaking Dawn
– June 27: Captain America
Food vendors will be on hand again this year to provide guests with a snack, dinner or dessert.
This year's providers include Moe's Southwestern Grill, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Stonehouse Q, Kona Ice, the Grilled Cheesserie gourmet food truck and Moose Head kettle corn.
