A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital after colliding with a semi-truck in south Nashville Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Hermitage Avenue and Fairfield Avenue.
Police told Nashville's News 2 that the driver of the semi-truck continued driving following the collision.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained a broken leg and other injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Authorities stated they were unsure if the driver of the semi knew the collision occurred.
A portion of the intersection was shutdown for 30 to 45 minutes while police investigated.
The intersection has since reopened.
